Partnerships & Community Groups

We are proud to be active members of the many community groups that are from the Bordentown and surrounding areas. These groups are an integral part of the survival of a community. Their focuses are varied. Some concentrate on history or veterans, some on business, but all are for the benefit of the entire community.

We have inaugurated a new Little Free Library that’s big enough to hold puzzles!

Bordentown City Veterans Memorial - Click to Connect

Stephanie has been a Committee member for many years. She has been appointed Chairperson in 2020. Stephanie is the Chairperson of their annual Veterans Gala, which primary function is to honor veterans and community volunteers.

Bordentown Elks Lodge #2085 - Click to Connect

Robert was an officer from 2006-2011 and then became Exalted Ruler 2011-2012.  He also ran and cooked for their “Sandwich Nights” for many years. Robert is now a part of the Past Exalted Rulers of the Lodge.

Knights of Columbus Council #570 - Click to Connect

Robert has been a Knight for many years. He has served as an officer and is now serving as the Council’s Esteemed Grand Knight. The Knights make Thanksgiving dinners for hundreds of families in the community, spearhead the Coats for Kids initiative yearly, make funnel cakes at all of the local festivals, host breakfasts and dinners for the community, many children’s holiday parties and are the ushers at the masses for St. Mary’s Church, just to name a few of their important functions.

American Legion Post 26 - Click to Connect

Robert served in the US Navy from 1987-1991. He was a boswain’s mate on the USS Hunley and captained missions on with a small craft unit. Because of his military service Robert joined the American Legion Post 26 and has served many officer positions. The Post is responsible for the Memorial Day service each year, supporting and sending candidates to Boys State each year, and placing flags and military markers on 12 area cemeteries each year.

Foundation for Bordentown Traditions - Click to Connect

In 2012 this group formed to plan community events which would serve as fundraisers to restore Bordentown’s Independence Day Celebration which had been cut due to lack of funding in 2007.  Robert & Stephanie were members of the founding board and continue to support the Foundation by donating the funds each year to have a cost-free Kids Korner for families to enjoy at the July Independence Day Celebration. 

Christ Church of Bordentown - Click to Connect

We are very committed to our houses of worship within our community. We help to sponsor many events throughout the year. We have an annual Ecumenical Blue Christmas Service at Christ Church to help families with loss during the holidays. We also have created a butterfly garden and an annual butterfly release for those grieving. Christ Church hosts a “Fill Father Matt’s Truck” event for food donations during the Holidays and the Annual Blessing of Firetrucks. 

Robert and Stephanie sponsor an annual parade float in Consolidated’s Halloween Parade and Hope Hose Humane’s Anniversary Parade. They also sponsor the free-to-families Kid’s Korner for the Annual Riverfest and Annual Blessing of the Firetrucks celebration at Christ Church of Bordentown.

Bordentown Historical Society - Click to Connect

The Bordentown Historical Society is made up of volunteers who are dedicated to preserving the history of Bordentown for future generations. They maintain the society’s sites, museum, artifacts and archives. They accomplish this as part of their mission to preserve, teach and inspire curiosity about Bordentown’s rich history. Stephanie has served on the Board and is still active in the Society’s events & fundraising efforts. Rob and Stephanie have opened their home 5 different times for the Holiday/Fall Tour of Homes.

Additional Community Involvement

Alliance of Therapy Dogs - Click to Connect

This group was started a few years ago and has blossom into something wonderful! Find a rock, paint it up, post a pic and the community hunts for it! Once found it gets “re-planted” for another person to find.

Bordentown Township Community Day/Fall Fest - Click to Connect

Bordentown Home for Funerals sponsors a free arts and crafts table every year for the original event, Community Day, and the newly created Fall Fest.

Bordentown City Green Team - Click to Connect

We strive to be as kind to our environment as possible. In recognition of our efforts, Bordentown City presented us with a Citation for Green Business Recognition Program. Additionally, we present our Green Funeral Options at the Annual Green Fair.

Bordentown Township Police - Click to Connect

Robert presented a flag to the Bordentown Township Police Department for their color guard to be used in honoring fallen police officers.

Bordentown Regional School District - Click to Connect

Robert participates in career day regularly and helps to present embalming and mummification history and techniques to students studying Egyptology.

Business Groups

Partnerships and affiliations are most important to a successful business and a link to resources and to the community. When business support each other, and the community it serves, nothing but wonderful things can happen.

Downtown Bordentown Association - Click to Connect

Stephanie has served on the Board of Directors and has been very active within the DBA for many years. The Downtown Bordentown Association hold many events during the year to bring people to the Bordentown Business District. It also spends much of its monies raised to advertise and promote the businesses within Bordentown City. They also volunteer to beautify the business district and decorate for the holidays. Bordentown Home for Funerals sponsors the free Kids Korner during the DBA’s annual Cranbury Festival.

Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. Bordentown Home for Funerals contributes to their annual events, such as the Rotary Golf Outtings, Basket Auctions and dinners.

Burlington Mercer Chamber of Commerce - Click to Connect

Since the chambers’ inception over 40 years ago first as the Bordentown Chamber of Commerce to their present name – Burlington Mercer Chamber of Commerce, have been recognized and respected for our impressive stature in the community. 

Robert has served on the Board and we support many of their fundraisers, networking events,  their Annual Street Fair and Hidden Treasures Calendar.

Business Partnerships

SERVPRO has been an important part of Bordentown Home for Funerals since the COVID-19 pandemic started in early 2020. SERVPRO has regularly cleaned, fogged, and sanitized our facilities and vehicles to ensure the safety and health of our family and the families we serve.

Central Jersey Ballet Theater - Click to Connect

CNJBT is the premier dance company in the Bordentown area for over 10 years. Bordentown Home for Funerals has sponsored an annual free community performance of The Nutcracker for many years. Their two daughters have been dancers since they were both 3 years old.

Good Grief - Click to Connect

Robert and Stephanie toured the Princeton location of Good Grief many years ago. They were very impressed with how many services they offer for grieving children and their families. We have referred many over our families to Good Grief, to both in-person and virtual services, to help them through their grieving process.

H.O.P.E. - Click to Connect

Since our founding in 1978, H.O.P.E.’s only purpose, our only activity, is to bring comfort and help to those torn by the loss of a beloved spouse or partner. This dedication to helping widows and widowers means that one hundred percent of our time and effort is focused on the needs of these grieving people. In so doing, we have become experts in this particular form of grief — the one you are now facing.
